Originally built in 1999 on a former Battle of Britain RAF base, which inspired its name, The Spitfire reopened in 2018 with a totally new look following a £1 million programme of refurbishment.
A smart and spacious modern venue, the ground floor of the pub offers three separate areas arranged around a modern central bar, including a restaurant, with stylish décor featured throughout.
The Spitfire hosts all kinds of private occasions, including wedding receptions, parties, wakes, and fundraising and charity events. With a selection of audio-visual equipment available, the pub also makes an ideal venue for business users holding meetings and conferences.
Outside, an awning at the front of the pub covers an al-fresco dining area seating 16 people, while a covered dining terrace has also been built in the garden, seating up to 40.
Breakfast is served from 10am to noon, and the main menu is available from noon to 9.30pm, offering an extensive selection of dishes to suit all tastes.
Chargrill is a speciality, with prime cut steaks cooked to order and delicious gourmet burgers. Diners can also choose from a wide range of pub classics including the popular beef, ale & onion pie, and fish & chips.
The family-friendly pub offers a Young Diners menu, and serves its popular traditional Roast Dinner on Sundays, with advance booking advised.
